Session Six: The Return of the Old Ones...?
[2024/07/09 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: Music streaming, note cards open, and last I recall you were in the tomb, facing seven skeletons who had stepped from behind hanging tapestries around the walls. A central plinth stands.... centrally
[2024/07/09 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: And with that memory dump, GGGGGGRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTINGS Adventurers, other players get coherent reminders... you get a few gabbled lines.
[2024/07/09 16:08] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Skeletons, not zombies, to confirm?
[2024/07/09 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: they're extremely thin zombies... in the extreme sense
[2024/07/09 16:09] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: it's Aaaaaaaht-kins diet
[2024/07/09 16:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay, roll initiative, d20, high goes first
[2024/07/09 16:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dina?
[2024/07/09 16:10] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: only skeletons, no visible necromonger?
[2024/07/09 16:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: Just the bony boys.
[2024/07/09 16:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: Debben goes first!
[2024/07/09 16:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: range to the skellys?
[2024/07/09 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: very close, it's not that big of a room
[2024/07/09 16:14] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben grabs her runed spear, doing a strike with the tip towards the shoulder of one of the bones. "Away from us ye mud-dribbling fossil-wannabees!"
[2024/07/09 16:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: d20
[2024/07/09 16:15] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: a 2 :D
[2024/07/09 16:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: well, kinda fitting.
[2024/07/09 16:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: A great and impressive attack, too bad it missed.
[2024/07/09 16:17] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: :O
[2024/07/09 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana is next and steps forwards, arms outraised. "In Gordelphus's name, BEGONE!"
[2024/07/09 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: oh mother fucker, a 9???
[2024/07/09 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: Needed a 10.
[2024/07/09 16:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: They pay no attention and continue to advance, much to Katanas' chagrin
[2024/07/09 16:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dahlia is next!
[2024/07/09 16:18] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me "so more of these animated formerly living big people", taking an interest in the form, function and movement of the skeletons or zombies or whatever they actually are as she prepares to attempt to turn them also paying close attention to how her divine magic affects them or doesnt and how it interacts with them overall. Much moreso than she ever has before....
[2024/07/09 16:22] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: ( Action, tho?
[2024/07/09 16:23] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): ((action was attempting to turn the dead peeps))
[2024/07/09 16:23] Sonja Bikergrrl: Selune is Goddess of the Moon, and as such is linked subtly to Life. The Goddess' power radiates out in a flash, subtle as a moon beam, but powerful as a high tide. The skeletons are repelled - all of them. They turn and walk into the walls.
[2024/07/09 16:23] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: do the walls let them out?
[2024/07/09 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: I should hope not... they are after all material
[2024/07/09 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: But they are out of the fight and I'll allow coup d'graces on the lot
[2024/07/09 16:24] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me giggles and spins in the air getting pixie dust all over everything and everyone
[2024/07/09 16:25] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Sure, will put this spear to work once my turn comes up
[2024/07/09 16:25] Alicia Frakture: Going for a Coup on the nearest one to Leesha
[2024/07/09 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Fight is over, all foes dead/turned.)
[2024/07/09 16:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: You make short work of the skeletons. Smashing the skulls releases whatever "life" force animated them, and the floor is soon covered in scattered bones.
[2024/07/09 16:28] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Ugh," debben laments, looking for a reasonable place to store these
[2024/07/09 16:28] Sonja Bikergrrl: Where they fell is good.
[2024/07/09 16:28] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me flies down to collect a few shards of the bone, storing them in one of her bags...."There seems to be alot of use of necromantic magic from either the divine or mage style studied magics in this region."
[2024/07/09 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dina gains some shards of bone
[2024/07/09 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: "Those aren't worth or good to keep, little one."
[2024/07/09 16:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: Other than the bones and the ruined tapestries... nothing really seems of value here. What now?
[2024/07/09 16:31] Alicia Frakture: Is there another door or something?
[2024/07/09 16:31] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: any of the tapestry art intellegible?
[2024/07/09 16:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: Just the one you came in by.
[2024/07/09 16:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: Not now; the tapestries are quite rotten and decayed. They probably commemorated some great acts, but now they're just mouldy dirty rags
[2024/07/09 16:32] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me looks to Katana wide eyed, almost surprised she noticed, "I'm going to study them, I need to understand what the attraction is to the necromancy school of magic and thought over the other types and directions in the use of magic overall. This region seems to filled with people pursuing necromantic knowledge and power, there must be something to it." she flies in mostly stationary as she speaks and is a bit distant as if in thought.
[2024/07/09 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Reminder: the tomb consisted of a passage leading "in", with two pairs of doors either side. You're in the first, left chamber.)
[2024/07/09 16:33] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: And this left chamber is a dead-end, apparently?
[2024/07/09 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana shrugs. She has no particular interest in this.
[2024/07/09 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: As far as you can tell, yes
[2024/07/09 16:33] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben with check for any sort of secret passages
[2024/07/09 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: em....
[2024/07/09 16:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: will*\
[2024/07/09 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: think it's d6
[2024/07/09 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: roll 1 or 2
[2024/07/09 16:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: not a dpercent?
[2024/07/09 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: pretty sure....
[2024/07/09 16:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: D6 got a 4
[2024/07/09 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: oh well. You didn't find any sign of a hidden door.
[2024/07/09 16:35] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: darn it
[2024/07/09 16:35] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Shall we check the other side?"
[2024/07/09 16:35] Alicia Frakture: I'm heading back to check out but not open the door on the other side.
[2024/07/09 16:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: if that's the worst that happens tonight... be happy :)
[2024/07/09 16:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: Leesha: As far as you can tell, the door is identical to the one you already opened.
[2024/07/09 16:37] Alicia Frakture: Not gonna open it until the others are here.
[2024/07/09 16:37] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: yeah, debben will keep up
[2024/07/09 16:37] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): follows
[2024/07/09 16:37] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: double checking her rifle is loaded and tamped after the battle
[2024/07/09 16:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana is likewise there (and the archeologist, keeping well back)
[2024/07/09 16:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: You check the rifle... but you feel compelled to keep to the spear.
[2024/07/09 16:38] Alicia Frakture: Slowly opens the door.
[2024/07/09 16:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: The door creaks loudly... and collapses. Beyond, a bare chamber, with a central plinth, with tapestries hanging from the walls.
[2024/07/09 16:39] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: the spear doesn't need to reload!
[2024/07/09 16:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: Indeed not, but, the spear seems remarkably hard to put aside.
[2024/07/09 16:40] Alicia Frakture: I'm going to step inside. Carefully as Leesha knows nothing about traps
[2024/07/09 16:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: Would you be surprised if the tapestries are pushed aside by skeletons hiding behind them? Because that's just what happens! :O
[2024/07/09 16:42] Sonja Bikergrrl: (We'll keep the initiative order... so Debben first)
[2024/07/09 16:42] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: what's the current range?
[2024/07/09 16:42] Sonja Bikergrrl: Same as before, close.
[2024/07/09 16:42] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Yeah, good range for spear usage
[2024/07/09 16:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: yep
[2024/07/09 16:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: d20, assuming melee... and you need... a 13+
[2024/07/09 16:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: 12+, tell a lie
[2024/07/09 16:44] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben stabs, more as a chore than with true invective for it.
[2024/07/09 16:44] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: :3
[2024/07/09 16:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: well... 3 is better'n 2...
[2024/07/09 16:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: just not quite good enough
[2024/07/09 16:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana isn't going to bother with a second Turn... she swings her sword... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand a 6 means that's all she does.
[2024/07/09 16:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dahlia :)
[2024/07/09 16:46] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: how many skeleleltons?
[2024/07/09 16:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: 7 again
[2024/07/09 16:46] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: ....that's a worryingly high number
[2024/07/09 16:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: Naa.
[2024/07/09 16:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: 4 of you to 7 of them... you got the edge on abilities and intelligence... they're low intelligence at best and simple monsters
[2024/07/09 16:48] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: so we shouldn't let it get to a crit-fishing trip
[2024/07/09 16:48] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "be ready to fall back to the door! Make them get in line!"
[2024/07/09 16:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: well... dice gods aside...
[2024/07/09 16:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: technically you're out of their league.
[2024/07/09 16:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dahlia can deal with 'em :)
[2024/07/09 16:50] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): um really ?
[2024/07/09 16:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: uhm, yes... it's your go too!
[2024/07/09 16:51] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "out of my league" ? No ones ever said that to me like that before
[2024/07/09 16:51] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me taking a deep breath before she called upon her magic once more she would try to turn the approaching skelly men or skelly whatevers basically the bad bone people
[2024/07/09 16:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: Debben, by herself, would probably be best fleeing such a group
[2024/07/09 16:52] Alicia Frakture: You're out of their league, miles above them
[2024/07/09 16:52] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: hard to fathom ;)
[2024/07/09 16:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: The power of Selune rolls out again, a subtle but very powerful wave of divine power. Once again, all seven are repelled.
[2024/07/09 16:53] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "How many times can you keep that up, Dhalia?"
[2024/07/09 16:54] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben will work on coup'ing these skeletons while they have the opening.
[2024/07/09 16:55] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me she flitted effortlessly through the air seeming quite happy, "well it's not really me im just channeling from the divine magics of the outer planes. I think they can do this as much as they like through the many clerics in mortal realms."
[2024/07/09 16:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana likewise - again, these can be finished off quickly and easily
[2024/07/09 16:55] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben will also check this room for differences from the other
[2024/07/09 16:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Turns can be attempted multiple times per encounter, until failure)
[2024/07/09 16:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: d6 to check
[2024/07/09 16:57] Alicia Frakture: Leesha leans against the door frame."That goddess of yours teach any fighting styles because you just won a fight twice.
[2024/07/09 16:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: "Indeed, but let's not get big headed... such would keep out the ordinary man, but, I suspect further in we'll face bigger challanges."
[2024/07/09 16:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: We might leave it there for now... I do got work tomorrow :)
[2024/07/09 16:59] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Wooo
[2024/07/09 17:00] Sonja Bikergrrl: that was a pretty good thing, and I think, interesting stuff
[2024/07/09 17:00] Alicia Frakture: Agreed, but can't argue with results.
[2024/07/09 17:00] Alicia Frakture: It was good can't wait for more.
[2024/07/09 17:01] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Now to see how we work when we face something that doesn't fall over to Turn
[2024/07/09 17:02] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): oh like more powerful walking dead types
[2024/07/09 17:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: /me just smirks that DM smirk
